Counseling Mission Statement
Ganesha High School Counselors strive to facilitate counseling programs that promote each students capacity to realize the highest level of intellectual achievement and social well-being. Our goal is to deliver a range of coordinated services that ensure each child acquires college to career readiness skills that support their goals of transition into post-secondary institutions and the world of work beyond their high school experience.
Under the guidance of Assistant Principal, Mr. Jorge Galvan, our department utilizes holistic counseling approach where the collective needs of each student is considered as being key to formulating an educational plan that is specific to your students learning and transition goals. Students are challenged to understand the educational and workforce demands of the 21st century and work closely with counselors to identify future career goals and align them with an array of college and post-secondary learning opportunities. Our team perceives counseling as in intentional effort that will empower students to develop the intellectual and social capital needed to compete successfully within a culturally diverse and technologically advanced society.
Counseling services are individualized to student need and are inclusive of quarterly grade progress monitoring, parent-student conferences, college and career planning, active participation in student study team meeting (SST), collaboration with Special Education and representation at Individualized Education Planning (IEP) meetings, collaboration with local surrounding social service agencies and partners, implementation of your symposiums to address student needs, utilize the CCGI on-line resource for academic, college and career planning, coordinate college campus field trips and college rep visits and inform students of college scholarship opportunities, coordinate an annual college and career day, coordinate college application workshops and financial aid workshops for students, coordinate foe the PSAT and SAT administration on campus.
