San Gabriel Valley Girls Athlete of the Week: Izabella Acosta, Ganesha

Noteworthy: Ganesha’s freshman phenom Izabella Acosta leads the CIF Southern Section with 45 goals scored and is leading a squad on a 10-game winning streak with eight consecutive shutouts. Acosta scored 23 goals over her last four games to earn SGV girls athlete of the week honors. She scored nine goals in a 12-0 win over La Puente, and scored five goals in wins over Workman and Pomona. Ganesha is 11-2-1 and 9-0 in the Miramonte League. With a win over Edgewood in the league finale, they can win the outright league title.

Dear PUSD Parents and Staff:
 
I wanted to provide an update for our PUSD families and staff. Our hearts go out to the communities near the Pacific Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires. We appreciate and support our first responders who are doing an amazing job protecting all our communities.
 
Here in PUSD, we had damage to two structures from fallen trees but everyone is safe and schools will remain open. Again, we continue to monitor the situation and encourage families and staff to use extra caution when traveling to and from school, particularly in areas prone to falling debris or limited visibility due to dust.
 
We thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work together to prioritize safety while maintaining a focus on learning.
