On Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 6-8pm over 150 students, parents, staff, administration and LACOE dignitaries attended the 3rd Annual Tobacco Use Prevention & Education Film Festival. The event featured 32, 90 second, original Public Service Messages written, directed and acted out by students from 15 different middle schools and high schools. Their assignment was to create a powerful and compelling public service announcement video that raises awareness about the dangers of tobacco/vape use and encourages a tobacco/vape free lifestyle. The event brought together PUSD and our community for a fun and entertaining evening, that rewarded 4 runner up teams with trophies and anti-vape swag, while 4 grand prize teams won a Universal Studios VIP Backstage tour.
